The Good Woman of Setzuan

The producers of this year’s school show would be delighted to have you attend our production of Bertolt Brecht’s, The Good Woman of Setzuan, which will be running from February 2nd to February 4th, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in Cringan Hall. Our director, Mr. James Harkness, and the cast of forty-two talented students have been rehearsing and polishing this production since October and are delighted to be performing this exciting play for you. Brecht’s entertaining and satirical play includes music and dance, and challenges the audience to contemplate controversial issues.

Our diverse cast is composed of students from both the Collegiate and the Claude Watson programs and includes students from grades 9 to 12.  Drama majors, drama electives, vocal majors, and dance majors have all contributed to this production

Our production has also relied on a variety of talented staff members, who include musical director, Mr. Alan Torok, vocal coach, Ms. Pamela Hetherington and our choreographer, Ms. Joan Phillips. In addition, we have worked closely with Mr. Brian Crerar of the Visual Arts department, who will transform our lobby space into an exhibition of mixed-media projects. We have also been fortunate to secure technical director, Mr. Robert Cameron, who will spearhead the construction of the set.

Our dedicated producers are Ms. Ann Lenchak and Ms. Frances Lue, from the English Department. They can be contacted directly for more information. We look forward to your support and know that you will enjoy the show!
